Mindful Parenting

Susan specializes in a Mindfulness based approach to managing a variety of emotional , situational, or life phase issues such as depression, anxiety, loss and grief, life transitions, relationship or parenting challenges.

Mindfulness is a skill that will increase awareness and control of thoughts, feelings, and related body based discomfort and enable you to respond effectively to situational and relational challenges.

Susan works with adults, couples, teens, and families and also offers women's therapy support groups and skills education. She has Child Specialist certification and can offer support for parents by exploring strategies to address specific parenting challenges.

Susan can assist you with exploring life patterns and personality, self esteem issues and mistaken beliefs, effects of traumatic experiences, personal strengths and skills, goals and dreams to help you to get your life on track toward personal fulfillment and healthy family and interpersonal relationships.

Susan has a Masters Degree in Psychology and is a WA Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has 18 years experience in psychotherapy and previous to that worked in domestic violence and sexual assault services for 7 years.

Susan's clients have this to say...

“It is often scary business as we look within….our response to that fear can be destructive or constructive . You helped me with that and have been part of my journey to look within, to learn courage, to accept myself, and to find enough comfort to turn away from self destruction. Your encouragement has been immeasurable, and your faith in me was felt…and
believed"

“My relationship was full of unresolvable conflict-or so I thought. You helped me out of my habitual way of seeing things and resulting behaviors. I was able to change and to feel energized once I'd let go of those old patterns. I don't think I could have done this without you. I think one thing that prevents people from seeking therapy is they believe they've thought through a problem completely and there's no way to solve it. A good therapist can help you see things you haven't been able to see. Then change can occur. Your combination of kindness, wisdom and insight got me there when nothing else was working.”

I feel so fortunate to have had Susan recommended to me.”
