Karen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who graduated in 2010 from Antioch University, Seattle with a focus on art therapy and child/couple/family therapy. She has additional training in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT and CBT+), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA), Helping the Noncompliant Child (HNC), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT).
She has a strength-based, family-centered approach to her work, and uses a client’s strengths as the basis for growth.
Each client is viewed as a whole person, not a collection of labels or diagnoses. Her experience is in working with children, adolescents,adults, and families who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, parenting concerns, and behavioral challenges. Karen meets state requirements as a mental health professional and child mental health specialist.
