My approach to psychotherapy involves a co-creative process with each client. According to your reasons for seeking support, your sessions might include verbal therapy, art therapy, therapeutic yoga, breathwork, EMDR, and/or dreamwork to:
• Honor your resilience and inner resources.
• Address anxiety, depression, insomnia, and/or relationship issues.
• Heal grief, loss, trauma, physical and emotional pain.
• Create new pathways, perspectives, relationships to self & others, and
visions for the future.
• Integrate body/soul/psyche, moving toward even more wholeness.
My work as a healer is based on my experience as a therapist in addition to my own healing path over the past 30 years. Since 2000, I have practiced art therapy and yoga therapy with adolescents, adults, and elders. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a board certified, registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC).
Areas of specialization include adolescence and young adulthood, trauma work, somatic issues, women's health, sexuality, group psychotherapy, and clinical supervision. I love working with clients from divergent backgrounds.
In addition to private practice, fourteen years of experience in in-patient psychiatric settings have offered a rich foundation in working with people impacted by various forms of trauma. Trauma-related training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and certification in trauma-sensitive yoga instruction from the Trauma Center in Boston, MA. I am continually inspired by new research in the areas of neuropsychology and trauma metabolism.
I am guided and inspired by the work of Carl Jung, Bessel van der Kolk, Gail Malizia, Shannon McCall, my own healers, and my resilient clients.
