  • Become more grounded and present in their lives (mindfulness)

Developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan at the University of Washington, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is an evidence-based modality which means that research has confirmed its effectiveness in treating a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, borderline personality disorder, chronic depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Comprehensive DBT is a type of therapy for those with persistent mental health issues and includes DBT skills classes -plus- individual therapy in a structured setting. Salvéo Counseling Center offers DBT skills classes for individuals seeking practical skills which help them to understand, accept and manage their strong emotions.
