Description
Ellen helps clients dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and mood disorders as well as clients dealing with the issues that arise from being part of the LGBTQ community. Ellen has also worked with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
One of her favorite words is epiphany, defined as a moment in which you suddenly see or understand something in a new or very clear way. In other words, an “aha” moment.
The therapeutic alliance is the most integral part of the counseling process. With the client's trust, Ellen helps to guide them to the “aha” moment; a point where it becomes clear what they need to do, let go of, or change to become the person they want to be.
Ellen’s counseling style is compassionate and empathetic with a dose of humor, using different modalities based on the needs of the client.
